"Sun Child and Moon Child" - one of my favourite paintings to date, I love the colours in this one. Loosely inspired by the song "Moonchild" by King Crimson - these sisters stand together, but separately - representing the sun (on your left) and the moon (on your right). The sky & sea are both shown here reflecting the day/night dichotomy. Sun Child is cradling a chalice holding the light of the sun, and Moon Child carries a vessel containing the crescent moon. A rooster represents day/morning, and the moon-bunny is for the night. This is a piece I debuted & sold at Dragon*Con 2011 - originally it was in a really neat diptych (two-paneled) altarpiece frame that my husband Matt made for me. Even though the original has sold though, I have prints & other merchandise featuring these beauties! Please note: since the original painting was a tad taller than usual, the printed image is about 11.75x18.75" for the big prints, and 6.75x10.75" for the small prints. These fine art fantasy prints are made from my own original acrylic painting. Open Edition prints are on glossy photo paper and measurements include a white mounting border. Canvas prints are Hand Embellished, have a printed image of just under 10.25"x16.5") on a white background on an 11"x17" sheet of canvas, and are limited to an edition of 25. The copyright watermark does not appear in the actual print! See below for detail images.
