Ariel – Little Mermaid – Work-in-Progress

partofyourworldwip1

Work-in-progress! Another new Disney painting, very early stages – featuring Ariel from The Little Mermaid – this time for the Pop Gallery & Bradford Exchange part of Disney. I’ve basically “sketched” (in brown, grey, black & white paint & water, with a very tiny brush) out the scene, mostly focusing on the details of the main characters – Ariel, Sebastian and Flounder. I’ve refined this “sketch” in paint several times, covering up what I don’t want with opaque paint, strengthening lines I do want in darker paint. Now I’m starting to lay in washes of watered layers of colour, mostly for myself just to figure out where I’m going with the colour palette & figuring out my light source (mostly coming in from the top down through the grotto underwatr), etc. I’ve done a bit of shading on Ariel, but nothing much more than that. Many more hours to go, I’ll post another work-in-progress pic later. This is one of the pieces that will debut at my May 3rd event at Pop Gallery Orlando here at Downtown Disney in Florida! The original painting & giclees will be available at Pop Gallery, giclees & other merchandise will also be available online & through the Hamilton Collection/Bradford Exchange. This is an original acrylic painting, 16×20, will be in a big gorgeous ornate frame and priced at $6400 – if you are interested in purchasing the original please contact Pop Gallery at [email protected] or call them at: 407-827-8200 and ask to be put on the Jasmine VIP List for “Part of Your World” – Jasmine’s Little Mermaid painting. Licensed & ©Disney.

stilleven6wip

Work-in-progress! Finishing touches on the sixth painting in my series called “Stilleven” (Dutch word for “Still Life”) – intended for an upcoming show. If you are interested in reserving the original painting, email me at [email protected] and inquiries will be indexed according to the order of response. This one is BIG and is going into a magnificent baroque frame with external measurments of 40″x36″ $7200 price. This painting features one of my favourite creatures – trilobites! I collect their fossils, and enjoy painting pictures of them. Prehistoric creatures of the sea, no longer with us, but beautiful nonetheless (think of them as ancient horseshoe crabs). This beauty loves them too! Perhaps she’s a little sad about all the world’s creatures that are now extinct….. This painting is for another oracle deck project, a deck that will be all water-themed, being written by my two sisters Kachina Glenn and Amber Logan & being published by Blue Angel Publishing. I love this piece, be sure to look for it in my upcoming Water themed Oracle deck.

The original painting herself is 16″ high by 8″ wide and is on a 2″ deep birch cradled masonite panel (sides painted glossy black, gallery-style) – with a hanger on the back, all ready to hang on your wall. Work in progress, trilobites

trilobitewip2014

Work-in-progress! This painting features one of my favourite creatures – trilobites! I collect their fossils, and enjoy painting pictures of them. This beauty loves them too – this painting is for another oracle deck project, this deck is all water-themed, being written by my two sisters Kachina Glenn and Amber Logan & being published by Blue Angel Publishing. This piece is definitely coming along nicely, but many hours still to go – I’ve only roughly painted in the trilobites and still have a lot of work to do on her hair & face – If you are interested in the original painting, contact me at [email protected] – I am taking names for the “first dibs” list for direct sale from me, the artist. This original painting is acrylics on an 16×8, panel, will come gallery cradled – 2″ deep wooden sided masonite panel, and will be priced at around the $3300 mark depending on how long it takes me to finish. Collector inquiries will be given preference based on chronological order of contact, please put the words “Original Painting Inquiry” in your subject line so we are sure to see it!

“Stilleven V: Roemer”
11″x14″ Acrylic Painting $3800 – SOLD
Signed Prints (starting at $9.99) are here at Strangeling.com & yes, we ship worldwide!  Hand embellished Limited Edition Canvases are also available on the same page, just use the drop-down box on the Fine Art Prints selector to choose the Canvas option.

From Jasmine:
“Stilleven V: Roemer” – the fifth in a series of works I have planned that feature “deconstructed” elements of still lifes inspired by the Dutch master painters of the 1500-1600s, along with faeries & nymphs (of course!). A “Roemer” refers to the wineglasses with the raspberry shaped prunts on the stems that are often featured prominently in Dutch paintings. A lot of fun details in this one, all popular elements included in famous Dutch still lifes. This is my own original acrylic painting, the original painting herself is sold, but I have prints, posters & other merchandise available!

Limited Edition Canvas prints are available directly from me and are at Strangeling.com – 11×14″, $125, hand embellished by me in acrylic paints, signed & numbered out of 25 ever made, wrapped on wooden boards & ready-to-hang. You can order the Limited Edition Canvas prints by using the Fine Art Prints drop down menu and choosing the Lt. Ed. Canvas option at strangeling.com here as well as the signed glossy paper photo prints (on sale this week only $9.99).

Enjoy!

“Swimming with Koi” – a work in progress

Swimming with Koi

A work-in-progress for “Swimming with Koi” – turning out really well so far. Another one of the paintings that will be debuting at my Myths and Mermaids show (Dec. 14-15 at Pop Gallery at Downtown Disney at Disney World here in Florida). I’ve got the central mermaid character just about finished and now I’m painting in a bunch of bright coloured koi fish surrounding her.

This piece will be priced around $6400 and will come in a very unique & oddly shaped antique wooden frame that really sets off the strange shape of this painting. Prints & Lt. Ed. Canvases will also be available at and after the event.

Be sure to get on the “Jasmine VIP email list” to be notified when this original painting (and other new originals available from the Myths and Mermaids show!) is available to purchase. You can join the list by calling Pop Gallery at 407-827-8200 or emailing [email protected] and simply ask to be on the VIP list for Jasmine Becket-Griffith Originals . While Pop Gallery does not pre-sell or reserve unfinished artworks, all available originals will be announced via email after completion first to the “Jasmine VIP email list” and then sold on a first-come, first-served basis. You must be on this Jasmine VIP email list if you would like to receive purchase information prior to the general public release before the show.

Details about the “Myths and Mermaids” show can be found on my Event Page HERE
