Unseelie Court WAR Work in Progress

Work-in-progress – a piece debuting at – “Unseelie Court: War” – following my previous “Pestilence” piece from last show. The first four in the series are loosely based on the four horsemen of the apocalypse, and “War” of course combines a lot of war-based imagery, both past & present. This is an acrylic painting on panel, measuring 16″x20″, the original painting will debut at Dragon*Con’s Art Show (I’ll be there August 29 – September 1 Hyatt Regency Atlanta Grand Hall West) so those attending Dragon*Con will have the first dibs on her in person.  Details about the Dragon*Con Art Show are HERE

We are taking names for the “backup list” after the show if she’s not sold, so if you are interested in purchasing the original painting, email me at [email protected] with the subject line “Unseelie Court: War Original Painting”. She’ll be $5200 for DC attendees (it will be a bit higher to those after the show), with the prints & canvases (starting at $9.99) available at strangeling.com shortly after the show. “Death” and “Famine” will follow soon. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith

Tableaux Vivants I Work-in-Progress

tableauxvivants1wip1

Work-in-progress!  The first in a new series I’m working on called “Tableaux Vivants” (living pictures) – a surreal incorporation of my traditional female figurative portraits along with tiny magical scenes from historic or mythological imagery.  This first painting features the Triumph of Galatea with a rococo portrait – I really love how it’s turning out, got few more hours of work left.  She will debut at MegaCon (here in Orlando at the Orange County Convention Center March 21-23, I’m at booth 814-816), is on a 12×16 panel going into super crazy ornate rococo frame – 27″x31″ external measurement – and will be priced at $4500.  If you are interested in the original painting, email me at [email protected] – preference will be given to MegaCon attendees but we are putting together a collectors’ inquiry list to contact if she remains unsold after the show.

Work in progress, trilobites

trilobitewip2014

Work-in-progress! This painting features one of my favourite creatures – trilobites! I collect their fossils, and enjoy painting pictures of them. This beauty loves them too – this painting is for another oracle deck project, this deck is all water-themed, being written by my two sisters Kachina Glenn and Amber Logan & being published by Blue Angel Publishing. This piece is definitely coming along nicely, but many hours still to go – I’ve only roughly painted in the trilobites and still have a lot of work to do on her hair & face – If you are interested in the original painting, contact me at [email protected] – I am taking names for the “first dibs” list for direct sale from me, the artist. This original painting is acrylics on an 16×8, panel, will come gallery cradled – 2″ deep wooden sided masonite panel, and will be priced at around the $3300 mark depending on how long it takes me to finish. Collector inquiries will be given preference based on chronological order of contact, please put the words “Original Painting Inquiry” in your subject line so we are sure to see it!

Pandora

Pandora

“Pandora”

16″x20″ Acrylic Painting $6400 – SOLD

Signed Prints (starting at $9.99) are here, we ship worldwide HERE at Strangeling.com
Another piece from my Myths & Mermaids show at Pop Gallery Orlando at Downtown Disney, Pandora is a new painting based on the “Pandora’s Box” myth. In my interpretation, she has already opened the box and behind her is a scene inspired by medieval monsters and demons along the lines of Hieronymus Bosch, Bruegel, and Huys (representing the evils of humanity released from the box). Amidst all the chaos, the last critter out of the box is “Hope” – which I have chosen to represent as a glowing butterfly. The butterfly and the innocence of Pandora’s soulful dark eyes make this a painting of hope, despite the evils of the world.
The original painting herself sold at the show, but I have prints, posters & other merchandise available!

Limited Edition Canvas prints are available directly from me and are at Strangeling.com – 11×14″, $125, hand embellished by me in acrylic paints, signed & numbered out of 25 ever made, wrapped on wooden boards & ready-to-hang. You can order the Limited Edition Canvas prints by using the Fine Art Prints drop down menu and choosing the Lt. Ed. Canvas option HERE at Strangeling.com
