I’m putting the final touches on “Alice in the Garden” – a new Disney painting I will be debuting at Disneyland’s WonderGround Gallery in Anaheim California (I’ll be there March 1st at 11am-1pm to sign autographs & debut my latest pieces for Disney). This is an original acrylic painting featuring Alice, the Cheshire Cat, flowers & more – just finishing up the “Bread & Butterflies” in this photo. Work-in-Progress: Stilleven V

stilleven5wip1

Work-in-progress! The fifth painting in my series called “Stilleven” (Dutch word for “Still Life”) – a series of works I have planned that feature “deconstructed” elements of still lifes inspired by the Dutch master painters of the 1500-1600s, along with faeries & nymphs (of course!) If you are interested in reserving the original painting, email me at [email protected] and inquiries will be indexed according to the order of response. Still lots of work to do on this one – fruit, flowers etc…. Price will probably be in the $3500-$3900 range depending on how long she takes to finish, she measures 11×14 and will be in a glossy black ornate resin frame. I will also have prints, posters & canvas prints at strangeling.com soon.

Pandora

Pandora

“Pandora”

16″x20″ Acrylic Painting $6400 – SOLD

Signed Prints (starting at $9.99) are here, we ship worldwide HERE at Strangeling.com
Another piece from my Myths & Mermaids show at Pop Gallery Orlando at Downtown Disney, Pandora is a new painting based on the “Pandora’s Box” myth. In my interpretation, she has already opened the box and behind her is a scene inspired by medieval monsters and demons along the lines of Hieronymus Bosch, Bruegel, and Huys (representing the evils of humanity released from the box). Amidst all the chaos, the last critter out of the box is “Hope” – which I have chosen to represent as a glowing butterfly. The butterfly and the innocence of Pandora’s soulful dark eyes make this a painting of hope, despite the evils of the world.
The original painting herself sold at the show, but I have prints, posters & other merchandise available!

Limited Edition Canvas prints are available directly from me and are at Strangeling.com – 11×14″, $125, hand embellished by me in acrylic paints, signed & numbered out of 25 ever made, wrapped on wooden boards & ready-to-hang. You can order the Limited Edition Canvas prints by using the Fine Art Prints drop down menu and choosing the Lt. Ed. Canvas option HERE at Strangeling.com

Work in progress for a big blue whale painting…..

Big Blue Whale work-in-progress

A work-in-progress for an enormous painting of an enormous great blue whale (with a mermaid, of course). Another one of the paintings that will be debuting at my Myths and Mermaids show (Dec. 14-15 at Pop Gallery at Downtown Disney at Disney World here in Florida). Mostly it looks pretty much all blue right now as I’m still working on the background and the cooler shadow & highlight tones, it’s going to have a lot of blue as it’s a blue whale in a blue ocean, hehe.

This piece will be priced around $9200 and will come in an ornate antiqued silver frame measuring about 43″ wide by 32″ high.

Prints & Lt. Ed. Canvases will also be available at and after the event. Be sure to get on the “Jasmine VIP email list” to be notified when this original painting (and other new originals available from the Myths and Mermaids show!) is available to purchase. You can join the list by calling Pop Gallery at 407-827-8200 or emailing [email protected] and simply ask to be on the VIP list for Jasmine Becket-Griffith Originals . While Pop Gallery does not pre-sell or reserve unfinished artworks, all available originals will be announced via email after completion first to the “Jasmine VIP email list” and then sold on a first-come, first-served basis. You must be on this Jasmine VIP email list if you would like to receive purchase information prior to the general public release before the show.

Pandora Work-in-Progress

Work-in-Progress for “Pandora” – Myths & Mermaids Show

A work-in-progress for “Pandora” – almost done! The background alone has taken me days on this one, very detailed. Pandora is a new painting based on the Pandora’s Box myth that will be debuting at my Myths and Mermaids show (Dec. 14-15 at Pop Gallery at Downtown Disney at Disney World here in Florida – details are HERE). In my illustration, she’s already opened the box and behind her will be a lot of creepy Brueghel / Hieronymus Bosch sort of medieval monsters and demons, but the last critter out of the box will be “Hope” – which I have chosen to represent as a glowing butterfly.

This piece will be priced around $6400 and will measure around 32″x36″ framed in a huge elaborately ornate frame – acrylic painting on a 16×20 panel. Prints & Lt. Ed. Canvases will also be available at and after the event. Be sure to get on the “Jasmine VIP email list” to be notified when this original painting (and other new originals available from the Myths and Mermaids show!) is available to purchase.

“Pandora” – a Work-in-Progress

Pandora - Work-in-Progress

A work-in-progress for “Pandora” – a new painting based on the Pandora’s Box myth that will be debuting at my Myths and Mermaids show (Dec. 14-15 at Pop Gallery at Downtown Disney at Disney World here in Florida) – I’ve spent the past day or two “sketching” her out in paint (I sketch in paint thinned with water, rubbing away what I don’t like, usually in grey & brown tones), and I’m just now starting to flesh her out with opaque layers of thicker peach & white tones for her skin. She’s already opened the box and behind her will be a lot of creepy Brueghel / Hieronymus Bosch sort of medieval monsters and demons, but the last critter out of the box will be “Hope” – which I have chosen to represent as a glowing butterfly. If it all turns out as planned, it should be a pretty great painting.

This piece will be priced around $6400 and will measure around 32″x36″ framed in a huge elaborately ornate frame – acrylic painting on a 16×20 panel. Prints & Lt. Ed. Canvases will also be available at and after the event.
