I've always loved the story of Zeus & Europa, and since it's been portrayed throughout the centuries (millennia even) in many forms of artwork, I thought I'd like to paint my own! Zeus (the god) fell in love with a Phoenician beauty named Europa. So - he does the sensible thing, turning himself into a bull and tricking her into sit on his back so that he could run into the sea and seduce her (but of course!). I went with a painting with a more sweet version reminiscent of the Rococo depictions. Also, I think cows are beautiful when decorated with flowers. PLEASE NOTE: this was originally an oval shaped panel, so the prints are an oval on a white background. These fine art prints are made from my own original acrylic painting. Open Edition prints are on glossy photo paper and measurements include a white mounting border. The 8.5x11 print size has a printed image of about 8x10 and the 13x19 print size is about 12x16. Canvas prints are Hand Embellished, measure arouund 11"x14" and are limited to an edition of 25. The copyright watermark does not appear in the actual print! See below for details.
