I've always loved the story of Zeus & Europa, and since it's been portrayed throughout the centuries (millennia even) in many forms of artwork, I thought I'd like to paint my own! Zeus (the god) fell in love with a Phoenician beauty named Europa. So - he does the sensible thing, turning himself into a bull and tricking her into sit on his back so that he could run into the sea and seduce her (but of course!). I went with a painting with a more sweet version reminiscent of the Rococo depictions. Also, I think cows are beautiful when decorated with flowers. PLEASE NOTE: this was originally an oval shaped panel, so the prints are an oval on a white background. These fine art prints are made from my own original acrylic painting. Open Edition prints are on glossy photo paper and measurements include a white mounting border. The 8.5x11 print size has a printed image of about 8x10 and the 13x19 print size is about 12x16.
